Nutritional Shift

The first stage in helping Nutritional Shift was getting their online shop back up and running.  They had been dealing with problems with their hosting service, an outdated shop, and many other small niggles.

Although we discussed a much bigger project to create a website that resonated with their customers and worked harder for them, this first stage was just getting them back up and running.

Their shop is simple to modify, has small design hints to tie in with their upcoming new branding, and most importantly easy to use for their customers and themselves.  Some key features included are international and weight based shipping, automatic printable invoices, and allowing their shipping partners immediate access when an order is placed.  Stay tuned for the next phase in a few months time.

Tuya Technologies

Sometimes a project that comes out of nowhere becomes a great opportunity to build a new relationship.

Tuya Technologies had been working closely with Richard from Hirebrand, but now they needed a website for the eminent launch, and they needed it quick.  Richard got in touch just before the New Year with a design he needed creating in WordPress.

Tuya was getting ready to launch their new LLC to the world but hadn’t created their website yet.  Richard stepped to give them a functional design and I stepped in to create the CMS and site.

As with any new last minute project there were hiccups, but open communication and the ability to work flexibly means a great new partnership was started.

Parker SW Builders

Trying to stand out from the crowd shouldn’t make your website hard to use.  When it’s done right you get something beautiful that works.  Animation and simplicity can go hand and hand.

Parker SW didn’t want to look like every other builder.  They create sympathetic period property and new build renovations.  This means an they have an eye for detail and are someone you can trust.  The website needed to convey this.

Using a copywriter and taking time to talk to their customers has helped to create a website that not only does this, but is  also one of a kind.

Helping a small business create an impact on the web is one my favourite things to do.

This simple to use website was designed by m:art and brought to life by me.  It is simple to use, and easy to update.

We wanted to make sure that this small self-catering cottage would be seen and make a lasting impression.    I think this was a job well done.

Pedal a Bike Away

Pedalabikeaway, in the Forest of Dean, shows just what is possible with WordPress.  Although this site is built on WP and it’s Woocommerce Booking Plugin, the functionality is 100% bespoke.

Working closely with PBA, a booking system was created for a range of bikes that they offer on 1/2 day or daily basis.  We flipped things on their head and gave control to the user by allowing them to select dates first to show availability, something the bookings plugin could not do.

We also made it possible to book bikes of the same type but with different sizes without re-entering details.  Something that saves the user a good chunk of time.

Along with many other bespoke reporting aspects, and site functionality, we re-created PBA’s current booking form ‘on the fly’.  Now they simply print these off ready for the bike hire shop to check in/out bikes for the day.

Projects like this are why I love my job.

Little Ditsy Shop

Small businesses sometimes need to take their web presence 1 step at a time, and this is what Little Ditsy wanted.  Myself and m:art design created a shop to showcase Little Ditsy’s handmade items but currently doesn’t allow online purchases.  This gives the owner the chance to learn how to manage an online business without the added complication of transactions and stock.

The best thing is that when Little Ditsy is ready to take the next step, the site is ready.  This build was created to be future proof, so all of the systems and processes needed to run a full online shopping experience are ready to go.

Little Fodders Bookings

Booking systems can be quite varied, and every business will have a unique situation to cater for.  Pedal a Bike Away needed a system to book a term of classes or single day bookings.  They also wanted to limit the class sizes, and offer morning and afternoon sessions.  The system I created does that and more.

This was a great project to show what is possible in just a few days of development.  It was a great way to prove the booking system could work and how PBA can use it going forward to move future bookings and rentals online.

This was a chance for the choir to bring their old WordPress site up to date.

What m.art and I created was a bespoke site that showcased their great imagery, allowed them simple control with WordPress CMS, and provided a straight forward way to be bilingual.

Being a choir they also wanted to present some of their music to visitors, this included youTube videos, but also a complete album to choose to listen to when someone visits the site.

Bookings and Payment

When you are running a small business it is hard to stay on top of all of your paperwork.  Having an online payment and booking system pays back the cost to create it in days.

Ross Rowing Club have always offered simple camping at their large site on the River Wye.  Over the past few years the popularity has grown to such an extent that they could’t keep up with the email requests.  Over 2 days this simply booking system was created, a SSL certificate installed, and bookings are now being taken with no emailing back and forth.   RRC can now concentrate on greeting their campers and making their stay a lovely one.

With a combination of Gravity Forms, Stripe Payments, and DO IT SIMPLY ingenuity, Ross on Wye Camping is running better then ever.

Working closely with Mart Design, we created a beautiful single page site.  A flawless design allows the technical aspect to be built in tight time frame and on budget.

A beautiful site doesn’t need to cost the world or take months to create.

Ross Rowing Club

Ross on Wye Rowing Club was struggling with the website that was built for them a few years ago.  Although done on WordPress no one ever figured out how it was done or what to do with it going forward.  I stepped in to simplify how they managed the site and to make sure all important information for visitors and members alike was easy to find.

The design was kept clean to really showcase what was going on at the club.  Such as the upcoming Regattas and Head Races, Learn to Row courses, and of course the weather.

It is also a one stop shop for all of the latest club news, with newsletter posts, social media, and events.

A booking and payment system was created for the great camping and canoe landing that the club provides.  Freeing up some valuable time for members that can now be spent on the water!  On top of this, a new payment system was integrated to allow RRC to capitalise on their biggest event of the the year, the Ross Regatta.

Abererch Sands

When the owners of Abererch Sands starting getting problems with hacking into their 3 year old site, I stepped in to help.

By moving their old bespoke cms over to WordPress it was given increased security and more flexibility with content.  Both without any added costs.  The website was replicated exactly as it was before, only now on the WP platform.

As I have a close relationship with Martin at m:art design, we tend to build a lot of sites together.

I convinced Martin that building this bespoke design on WP would give greater flexibility going forward, yet maintaining a completely unique look.  No WordPress templates for us.  Martin supplied some stunning PNGs, thoughts about what he wanted to do, and this site was created.

Offshore Storage in Wordpress

Offshore Storage

Every small business does indeed need a web presence.

When I offered to work with Offshore Storage they were very reticent about having to look after a website and its added complications.  I wanted to insure that whatever was produced it didn’t add any additional work to their day to day business.  The added bonus was that I managed to take some of their routine time wasting issues away in the process.

The sites main goal was to take away some of their unnecessary and unsocialable hour phone calls.  This was done by  by showing distinct office hours and providing answers to the most common queries on their homepage.  Added to this was a  simply contact form so that potential customers could still enquire at any time of day.  I talked the business owners through setting up their email client to receive the business emails and away they went.  They have reported a reduction in phone calls, and a few compliments thrown in on their new site.

Queen's Jubilee Trust website

Queen’s Jubilee Trust

I work with a lot of different business and agencies and the project managers (from GGMR) for this were some of the best.

They work closely with the Royal Family on many of their charitable websites and the Jubilee Trust was in need of a a refresh.  The deadline was tight, the design was beautiful and complicated, but with a great communication and a lot of open flexibility given to me the project was finished in 6 weeks.

Full design proofs were provided, and the process mapping of the site was done to a high degree, making my job that much easier.  The site is built with WordPress but almost entirely with bespoke modules.  The theme is built on a Bootstrap 3 base, but again, completely bespoke.

This is a wonderful example of what can be done with a CMS to insure it is completely unique yet produced quite quickly and with lot of user control.  I wish I had more projects run as smoothly as this.

Not everyone wants  complete control of their website, or the responsibility.  For clients like this, sometimes a bespoke CMS is just the answer.  They get to pick and choose the pages they want to change, the CMS is much simpler then using a framework, yet there is still infinite possibility.

Using PHP and MySQL the sales and area pages were created to allow updates and additions at any time.  The rest of the site is built around a creative use of HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery.

This was another unique design vision by Martin at m.art design.  He really wanting something that was stunning on a larger screen, and this definitely stands out.  He supplied PSDs to me and a outline of his wants for the site, and this was created.
